The multi-evening auction of Elizabeth Taylor's belongings begins tonight at Christie's Auction House in New York, and after making the trip up to view the exhibit on Sunday, I just have to say, HOLY MACKEREL.
I mean, you guys. You can peruse everything here, but it does not do it justice. Rooms and rooms of designer clothes, handbags and shoes, passing by a couple of Van Goghs, leading into a hall of legendary Hollywood memorabilia, concluding with umpteen cases of jewels that wouldn't be out of place in the Tower of London but seem a tad absurd for ONE lady. Excuse me, one grand ol' Dame. The diamonds, and sapphires, and rubies, and emeralds. It was really impressive. I can't wait to see who pays tens of millions of dollars for this 33.19-carat beauty tonight!
